HELP!

Hello there, do you have a question about Hello Hair?
Hopefully you can find the answer below…

What is the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask? +

Hello Hair Hydrating Mask is a 100% natural treatment which uses the benefits of Coconut, Almond and Argan oils to reconstruct and strengthen stressed out and damaged hair. It is a great remedy for colour treated and bleached hair, chemically treated hair, and hair which is regularly affected by heat exposure from the sun, blow-drying, and straightening. Hello Hair can also assist in the management of dandruff and dry, flaky scalp issues. It leaves your hair feeling softer and easier to manage after use.

What is the difference between the three masks? +

The difference between our Hydrating Masks is the essential oils inside, and the natural scents! Our Original Hello Hair Hydrating Mask is the only mask that isn't nut free (it contains almond oil). The other two masks (Island Escape Edition and Botanic Edition) do not contain any nut products, so is safer for any beauties that need to be mindful of exposing themselves or their loved ones to products containing nuts. If you have other allergies or sensitivities, please consult the ingredient list to ensure the Hydrating Mask is safe for you to use.

Please be advised that the botanical difference between coconuts and tree nuts would suggest that most people with tree nut allergies can tolerate coconut. There are bound to be exceptions to this, but if you are allergic to nuts and have never had a reaction to coconut, it is likely that coconut poses no greater risk than many other products.

All Hydrating Masks provide the same great benefit to your hair, but variations in the ingredients might mean that one Hydrating Mask is better suited to your hair than others.

The Island Escape Edition uses a few new natural oils (like pomegranate seed oil) to give you strong, lustrous hair. We wanted to find a way to take you all on a well-deserved break - and what better way than with a true tropical paradise you can lather through your hair in the comfort of your own home?!

We've used a heavenly mix of all-natural botanical extracts to fragrance this Island Escape Edition product. The fresh scents of lime, grapefruit, vanilla and coconut will have you island dreaming in an instant.

Our Botanic Edition has the added benefits of Lavender oil and Rosemary oil, and a truly calming scent that will have you feeling like you're in your very own day spa. This mask is perfect for deep hydrating treatments, when you leave-in your Hello Hair Hydrating Mask overnight, as the natural fragrance will balance and relax your mind and body - the perfect rejuvenation for you and your hair.

How do I use Hello Hair? +

Hello Hair Hydrating Mask is a pre-shampoo hair treatment which is applied to dry hair and washed out by shampooing and conditioning the hair as normal.

Do I apply the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask to wet or dry hair? +

Apply to dry hair! This means you don't need to get in and out of the shower to apply (how convenient!)

Please take note that Hello Hair is an oil-based treatment, not crème based, so the consistency is a lot runnier.

Dry locks love Hello Hair, and will absorb a lot of the oil straight away. This means your hair shouldn't be dripping oil, but should appear oily to the point of looking wet.

If you're worried about oil dripping on your clothes, wrap your hair in a Hello Hair Towel Wrap, or put a towel around your shoulders / wear an old t-shirt while applying. Using an appropriate amount of Hello Hair for your hair length and thickness means it shouldn't drip, and wrapping your hair in a Towel Wrap or cling wrap will always contain any excess liquid.

How much do I use? +

This will depend on your hair length and hair thickness. A standard portion is 25g, which is about the size of a golf ball (2-3 squirts into an open hand).

Some people will use less, some will need more. The important part is ensuring that you apply your Hello Hair from roots to ends, as the ingredients in the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask benefit your scalp too. However, if you are prone to oily hair, you might find that applying only to the ends suits you better (for this you will obviously use much less).

Why has my Hello Hair melted in the palm of my hand? +

Because you, my friend, are hot! The oils contained within Hello Hair are very sensitive to temperature changes, and your hot little hand makes Hello Hair melt. Take that as a compliment!

For easy application, we recommend Hello Hair should be in a crème-like consistency (put it in the fridge for approximately 30 minutes if it’s too runny). Rub it between your hands to help it melt, then spread evenly from roots to tips.

How long should I leave my Hello Hair Hydrating Mask in before shampooing & conditioning? +

We recommend 30 minutes; however, the longer, the better!  Apply Hello Hair before you sit down to watch your favourite TV show, do a quick ab workout, or check out the latest on Instagram and Snapchat.

For a deeper treatment, apply Hello Hair before going to bed. Please note that you will need to cover your pillow with a towel, to ensure no oils leak through to your pillowcase!

What is the best way to wash and dry my hair after treatment? +

After using Hello Hair Hydrating Mask, wash and condition your hair as normal. Most people benefit from two shampoos, followed by one conditioner. If you have very oily or porous hair, you will probably find that you definitely need to do two shampoos, to ensure all of the oils are washed out. You can then dry and style your hair as normal!

We recommend using a moisturising shampoo and conditioner like the Hello Hair Natural Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner, to enhance the benefits of the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask treatment.

My hair is still oily after shampooing my hair, what should I do? +

For best results we recommend shampooing your hair twice after applying the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask. Please keep in mind that this product is pure oil, so thoroughly shampooing your hair with high-performance products is definitely encouraged. The Hello Hair Natural Hydrating Shampoo is the perfect high-performance and natural shampoo to cut through the oils of the Hydrating Masks. If you are still having trouble, try using bicarb soda as a substitute for shampoo. Bicarb soda is a great natural way to clarify your hair - just mix it with enough water to make a paste and use in place of shampoo.

How will my hair feel after I have used the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask? How long until I see results? +

Your hair should feel noticeably softer and easier to manage after a couple of treatments. Within 4-6 weeks you should notice your hair feeling stronger, softer and more lustrous. Regular use of Hello Hair Hydrating Mask will also promote hair growth and assist in the management of dandruff and dry scalp issues.

How many uses will I get out of my Hello Hair Hydrating Mask? +

This will depend on the length, thickness and condition of your hair. The recommended use is 25g for someone with mid-long hair of moderate thickness, so they should get four uses out of one Hello Hair Hydrating Mask package.

How often should I use the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask? +

We recommend using it once a week or so, to ensure you see the best results from the treatment. However, because our product is made of 100% natural ingredients, you can use it as often or as rarely as you like! If you're experiencing significant damage, you may like to begin using it twice a week to give your hair the love it needs.

I have a nut allergy / tree nut allergy, should I use the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask? +

For your own safety, if you have a nut allergy, or tree nut allergy, we DO NOT recommend using the original Hello Hair Hydrating Mask. The original Hello Hair Hydrating Mask contains Sweet Almond Oil.

The Hello Hair Hydrating Mask Island Escape Edition and the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask Botanic Edition do not contain any nut products. However, we recommend reviewing the ingredients within the Island Escape Edition and Botanic Edition, prior to purchasing, to ensure they are safe for use. Also keep in mind that all products are all made in the same facility. Cross-contamination is rare, but should not be ruled out.

I have oily hair, can I still use it? +

Of course! We can't let those with dry hair get all the benefit of soft, shiny, more manageable hair! Our advice to you, however, is to thoroughly shampoo twice, to ensure you get all the product out. Try not to go to bed with wet hair either if you have the tendency to get oily quickly. If you notice that your hair remained oily even after following these instructions, perhaps try using the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask only on the mid-lengths to ends.

I have hair extensions, can I still use Hello Hair Hydrating Mask? +

You sure can! The Hello Hair Hydrating Mask is extremely beneficial for natural hair, as well as hair extensions.

Hair extensions often become dry and brittle because they don't receive the natural oils and nutrients from the scalp, the same way real hair does. Hello Hair nourishes and helps maintain the lustre of your human tape and weave hair extensions.

Please be aware that the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask is only suitable for Human Hair Extensions.

Is Hello Hair safe to use with Keratin treated hair? +

Hello Hair Hydrating Masks do not contain any sulphates, parabens or salt. They are all completely safe to use on Keratin-treated hair.

How should I store my Hello Hair Hydrating Mask? +

Please store Hello Hair in a cool dark place. By this we mean a cupboard, out of direct sunlight. You don't need to store it in the shower because you won't be applying it in the shower. You don't need to store it in the fridge either, however if it has been in a heated environment then we recommend 30 minutes in the fridge before you're ready to use it. If the consistency gets too hard, holding it between your warm hands should fix that. Or have some fun squishing it around in its pouch!

My Hello Hair has melted from heat or sunlight, what do I do?  +

We recommend 30 minutes in the fridge, until it returns to a crème-like or paste consistency. This could be a good idea when it first arrives in the mail too!

My Hello Hair Hydrating Mask has arrived rock solid, what should I do? +

The ingredients in the Hydrating Mask are sensitive to temperature, so if you are in a cooler climate you will notice the product hardens. Holding the pouch between your hands, or running it under warm water should soften the products. Squish it around in its pouch (fun!) until it’s at a crème/paste-like consistency!

Will my Hello Hair Hydrating Mask expire? +

The ingredients in the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask all are known to have a long shelf life, and some are known for their preservative properties. We recommend using your Hello Hair Hydrating Mask within 3 months. You can ensure the longevity of your Hello Hair by storing it in in a cool, dark place, away from heat, sunlight and moisture. We also recommend ensuring the lid is securely fastened at all times.

Hello Hair is proudly 100 per cent cruelty-free. Our all-natural products are never tested on animals.

Is the Hello Hair Hydrating Mask vegan? +

As our products use only natural plant-derived ingredients, they are 100 per cent vegan friendly.

The Hello Hair Hydrating Mask Island Escape Edition is AUD$18.00.
The Hello Hair Hydrating Mask Botanic Edition is AUD$18.00.

What is so special about the Hello Hair Natural Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner? +

Hello Hair dedicated years to the development of natural shampoo and conditioner products that don’t sacrifice on performance. Natural alternatives to the usual nasties found in many high performance hair care products have traditionally failed to lather, cleanse and soften your strands in the same satisfying way. But we believe Hello Hair delivers what so many other products cannot – shampoo and conditioner free from those nasty ingredients (!) that leave you with the fresh, clean and silky smooth tresses you deserve.

No Parabens
No Sulphates (SLS/SLES)

Why should you choose natural shampoo and conditioner products? +

There are so many crazy chemical compounds in regular shampoo and conditioner; a lot being synthetic ingredients that you wouldn’t want to eat – so why put them on your head for your skin to absorb? Add to that, these artificial ingredients are not biodegradable. They might make your hair appear glossy and healthy, but what they’re really doing is coating your mane in a layer of chemical build-up that can be detrimental to your strands in the long term.

Switch to using the Hello Hair Natural Hydrating Shampoo & Conditioner, and be confident your products are free from a long list of potentially harmful synthetics:

No Parabens
No Sulphates (SLS/SLES)
No Formaldehyde
No Propylene Glycol
No synthetic fragrances
No harsh detergents
No Silicones
No Phthalates
No Sodium Chloride
